how we treat your data
Effective 19 October 2026
The short version. Your work stays on your computer. When you visit our website or sign up for updates, we collect what we need to run the service and nothing more. We do not sell personal data. We never will.
Who we are. Croo Labs makes Croo. This page covers the Croo application, croolabs.com, and the emails we send. Where it says "we", it means Croo Labs.
What the app sends us. The Croo application runs on your own machine. During closed beta, Croo reports basic usage statistics, including its version, approximate active-use time, agent counts and peak simultaneously working agents. These statistics are anonymised on our servers and retained as aggregate usage data to help improve Croo. This reporting does not include chats, prompts, agent names or project contents. Your code, prompts, files, and API keys go only to the AI engines you set up, under their own terms.
Waitlist sign-ups. When you join our waitlist on croolabs.com, we collect your email address, your setup answers, where you arrived from (such as a campaign or referral code), the date you signed up, and your IP address at sign-up. If you choose to share a social handle, we store that too. We use this only to review applications, allocate access, and email you about your invitation.
Croo News. When you subscribe to Croo News, we store your email address, when you signed up, the wording you agreed to, and a salted hash of your IP address (never the IP itself). If you asked us in person, by email, or by message to add you, we record how, when, and who added you. Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link. We count opens and clicks to learn what is useful. If an email bounces, or you unsubscribe or complain, your address goes on a permanent stop list and we never email it again.
Direct outreach. We sometimes send individual emails about Croo to people who work in this field, using addresses that are public or that come from our own contacts. A person on our team reads and approves every message before it goes. Each one includes a one-click opt-out that uses the same stop list as Croo News.
Website and assistant. croolabs.com uses Google Analytics to measure how the site is used, in aggregate. If you use the chat assistant on the site, your questions go to a third-party AI provider to produce the answers. Do not put anything private in the chat. Visitor counters are stored under a salted hash and clear themselves on a rolling timer.
Who else handles your data. We use a small number of service providers to run the website, store records, send email, and answer chat questions. Each one handles data under its own terms, for the service it provides to us. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
Where data lives and how long it stays. Our records are stored with a cloud provider in the United States. If you live elsewhere, your data is transferred there. Stop-list entries and delivery records are kept so an address that opted out is never contacted again.
Keeping it safe. Traffic to croolabs.com is encrypted in transit, and only our team can reach stored records.
Seeing, fixing, or deleting your information. You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, at any time. Email hello@croolabs.com. A person on our team will take care of it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Governing law. This policy and how we handle data are governed by the laws of Singapore.
